Meet The Team

Richard O’Neill
I’m managing director and inventor of Moti-Lab. The idea came from my background as a landscape designer developing interactive landscapes for kids. I’m a great believer that all children are sponges for knowledge and they learn best when they are allowed to investigate things for themselves, especially through play. I’m a real advocate that fun should be involved in every learning process and that every individual can succeed no matter what.
Having a scientific background, then graduating in social sciences has helped me understand that scientific enquiry is hugely important for success in all walks of life. Bringing a product like Moti-Lab to market makes me amazingly proud as we know it has the potential to improve outcomes for all children – and I’ll be working hard to maximise this.

I am studying for an Engineering Doctorate at the University of Sheffield following a career in and for industry in the field of manufacturing continuous improvement. For many years I have been active in improving engagement in STEM subjects to children. I achieve this with practical, fun and inclusive sessions, working in partnership with teachers to improve their confidence in STEM subject delivery. I joined Moti-Lab in 2016 as a director and am proud to be part of the team launching a product that provides an exceptional whole school STEM resource for kids and their teachers.
